Catamarans

Building a boat atop two separate hulls gives catamarans plenty of room for accommodations as well as huge capacity and incredible stability, too. That makes catamarans ideal for all sorts of boats, from small sailboats to large power cruisers.

Catamarans are also ideal for electric propulsion. Those two long, narrow hulls make catamarans easy to push, extending battery range. Elco’s brushless PMAC motors and direct drive propulsion system take up less space than inboard combustion engines and the fuel and cooling systems they require. This allows electric motors to maximize useable space within those twin hulls. Near zero maintenance of Elco’s electric motors nearly eliminates time working in cramped engine compartments, too.

Quiet, smooth operation facilitates conversation underway and enhances communication while docking. Electric propulsion also eliminates pollution and safety concerns, as well as the smell and mess, from having gasoline aboard.

Let Elco’s vast experience help you protect our waterways by switching to clean, green electric propulsion.
